A management approach in which initiatives and proposal of decisions, and even the making of non-strategic decisions, are made by lower levels, with higher levels being limited to verifying that the company is on the right track. It promotes employee identification with the company and with the decisions made by the group, and the making of easily applicable decisions with little investment and good short-term results. Depending on the circumstances, it should be combined with a top-down approach.
